Services

Two services. Transparently priced. Built on the same principles.

Commercial debt recovery for one-off overdue accounts and an ongoing credit management retainer for businesses that want to stop firefighting. Both operate to the same documented, evidence-led standard.

Service one

Commercial debt recovery

For one-off unpaid B2B invoices. We take instruction, work the escalation ladder, and only invoice a commission once a balance is recovered.

Age of debt Commission on recovered balance
0 – 90 days overdue 12%
91 – 180 days overdue 18%
181 – 365 days overdue 22%
Over 365 days overdue 25%
Minimum fee £75 per case, taken from the recovered amount. Balances over £15,000: bespoke rates, please contact us.
No recovery, no fee

You only pay when a balance is recovered.

If nothing is recovered, no commission is due. Court fees, in the small proportion of cases that escalate that far, are separate and always agreed in writing before they are incurred.

How a recovery case actually runs

The escalation ladder.

  1. 01

Case review and letter of authority

You provide the balance, the age of the invoice, and a brief summary. We assess whether the case is actionable, confirm the commission rate in writing, and issue a letter of authority for signature.

  2. 02

    First formal demand

A properly constructed demand is issued from TRDG Commercial Credit Management with a clear balance, deadline, and consequences. The majority of solvent, disputable accounts either settle or respond substantively at this point.

  3. 03

    Second demand and negotiation window

Where the first demand goes unanswered, we escalate the tone and open a defined window for full settlement or a structured payment proposal. Every exchange is documented to court-ready standard.

  4. 04

    Letter Before Action

A formal 30-day notice issued under the Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims. This is the final step before court proceedings, and in the majority of cases it is also the final piece of correspondence required. The document is drafted to the exact format the court expects to see on file.

  5. 05

    County court proceedings, where warranted

Where the debtor does not engage, we set out whether the balance justifies formal proceedings and, if it does, prepare the claim through the county court. Court fees remain your decision and are always confirmed in writing before any filing.

Service two

Credit management retainer

For businesses whose challenge is not a single overdue invoice but a pattern of them. We operate as the outsourced credit control function on a fixed monthly retainer.

Essential

from £75 /month

For smaller operators with a manageable live ledger. Structured monthly chase cycle, escalation letters where required, and a clear status report so every account is accounted for.

Complete

Priced against your ledger

For growing businesses with a heavier invoice volume. Full credit control, dispute handling, negotiated payment plans, and monthly ledger review. Priced against the volume of live invoices, not the size of the business.

Enterprise

Bespoke

For larger ledgers, complex portfolios, or specific compliance requirements. Includes white-label options, with all communications issued under your brand so client relationships remain intact.

How pricing actually works

Retainers are priced against the ledger, not the business.

Every retainer is quoted against the actual volume of live invoices under management. Two businesses of similar size can have very different credit control needs, so we assess the actual workload before quoting.

Honesty page

A few things worth stating clearly.

We are not a call centre.

Recovery is conducted through structured written correspondence. It is more effective, fully documented, and does not offer the debtor a convenient channel to disengage.

We do not handle consumer debt.

TRDG Commercial Credit Management operates strictly business-to-business. We do not act on personal debt, consumer credit, or private matters.

We are not FCA regulated.

FCA regulation applies to consumer credit. Commercial recovery between businesses sits outside that framework. TRDG Commercial Credit Management operates to the recognised ethical standards of the industry and the pre-action protocols of the courts.

We tell you when to stop.

Not every balance is commercially recoverable. Where the debtor is genuinely insolvent, the paper trail is insufficient, or the cost of pursuit exceeds the likely return, we say so plainly and close the file.

Not sure which service applies?

Send us the situation. We will set out the appropriate route, and if the case does not warrant engagement at this stage, we will say so.
